I played at my kid's school. What a funny audience 3 to 4 year olds are. I was trying to hold back some laughs. Here's my set list.

Hello (Dan Zanes)
ABC's into Baa Baa Black sheep into Twinkle Little Star
All For Me Grog (trad.)
Mary Had a Little Lamb (SRV version)
I Like Colors (original)
Brown Girl In the Ring (trad.)
Pay Me My Money Down (trad.)
The Kids Won't Go to Sleep (original borrowing various nursery rhymes)

What a blast! I could do this again.

Awesome!!!
I love playing for kids, they're the best audiences.
Another one that the kids seem to love is:
"Good Guys and Bad Guys" by Camper Van Beethoven. Just needs a minor lyric change to make it appropriate: "Just SAY 'Hi' while the radio's on...

Have you written any kid's songs? I have one.

I've written a few. A song about colors where at the end they get some participation and I have to make up lyrics on the spot. Another one has nursery rhymes, but ends with trying to put the kids to sleep. I also have an instrumental called "nieces and nephews". I am always making up songs around the house to get a laugh. It's good song writing practice for trying to keep a song simple.
