OK, to be fair I went to the same high school (for a year when he was an exchange student) and college as the dude, but it's strictly on the Plato tip.

I'll add them in next time.
BTW, I love that they consistantly beat Creighton. I should support the instate private school, but it's always funny to watch those smug Jesuits lose.

Updated on February 11th

Most likely will change again this week with Duke's current decline and Virginia Tech sweeping UNC.

South
1 Florida vs. play-in
8 Duke vs. 9 Stanford
6 BYU vs 11 Maryland
2 Kansas vs 15 Austin Peay

East
1 UNC vs. 16 Deleware State
8 West Virginia vs 9 Texas
5 Oregon vs 12 Illinois
6 Arizona vs 11 Georgia
3 Marquette vs. Wright State

West
1 UCLA vs. 16 Weber State
8 Vanderbilt vs. 9 Villanova
7 Creighton vs 10 Notre Dame

Midwest
1 Wisconsin vs 16 East Tennessee State
5 Southern Illinois vs 12 VCU
2 Pittsburgh vs. 15 Marist

Those Catholics in Omaha are going to go crazy if Creighton actually plays Notre Dame. It will be like forcing them to choose either Jesus or Mary.

I doubt this matchup will even materialize. ND is in a full-blown tailspin right now, so they'll probably end up in the NIT, if that.

I really can't believe Ohio State and Wisconsin are #1 and #2 in the polls, the Big Ten has a terrible RPI right now and is only suppose to get four teams in the Big Dance. Can't these people learn anything from the BCS, the Big Ten sucks when it comes to championship time.

Here is the updated bracket from yesterday:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology

West
1 UCLA/Weber State
8 Villanova/Texas Tech
5 Vanderbilt/Missouri State
2 Kansas/East Tennessee State

Midwest
1 Wisconsin/Play in
8 Creighton/Alabama
7 Marquette/Oregon

South
1 Florida/Austin Peay
8 Texas/Arizona
6 Duke/Oklahoma State
3 Southern Illinois/Pennsylvania

East
1 UNC/Deleware State
8 Tennessee/Notre Dame
7 UNLV/Maryland
2 Pittsburgh/Toledo

Given ND's late season run, they deserve better than a 6 seed. They are a legit 5.

I have no problems with any of it. SEC Basketball simply doesn't carry the same rep in basketball as it does in football even though it SHOULD get more respect.

I was all over Texas' jock as my sleeper National Champ but that Kansas game has me thinking.

UGA, and epecially Dennis Felton deserved a better fate than it recieved this year but that's what happens when you can't afford to lose ANY player let alone your 2nd leading scorer and BEST defensive player to injury. (Mike Mercer)

Tony Cole and Jim Harrick can burn in hell.

Yeah, I only thought the SEC fans would be angry when the Big 10 had two top seeds and Florida was dropped to a Number Two. Now it looks about right for the top seeds. I think having a top seed from the four different power conferences is the best way to handle it, since rarely does a conference truly deserve two top seeded teams.

I loves me some TXAM-CC... an independent that finally joined a conference to get in the tourney. If they get that matchup with SIU, that could be your upset. They're always around 26-28 wins... which means they'll probably lose in the Southland semi's.

Or they'll be enough upsets in the other conference tourneys to give them a 13 seed.

As for other cinderellas in the mix, how about Winthrop (almost pulled the 15-2 upset last year), Akron, or Davidson?

I doubt Winthrop is gonna sneak up on anyone this year though. I think they're ranked #22 in the nation right now or thereabouts.

*double-checks* No shit. collegeRPI.com didn't update the AP/Coaches poll rankings in last night's update, where they're listed at 69. Not sure how much the committee considers rthe polls, but I wouldn't be surprised if Winthrop still got an 8-or-9 seed close to home.
