A simple question. I've been wondering what else my grandfather was probably right about. I think that I might be a braces kind of guy, if only I could get some buttons sewn into my pants (or bought nicer pants). At what point is an affectation TOO MUCH? Can I dress like mr. peanut?

I'm a belt guy all the way. I've worn braces, but I like the feel, and especially the look (I typically match with shoes and watch) of the belt.

I wear a belt, but used to wear braces when I got dressed up.
Too harried/lazy/apathetic to keep braces now. A belt is just easier.

But I do like the look of braces.
Bow ties, too (as if you didn't know that).

'FATTY' should be an option.

Otherwise, belt.

I appreciate the effort but damn, the wallet is a treasured tool, not an acoutrement. that's like telling me that you only bring the dog with you that matches your belt.

Thats a great idea actually considering that I DO actually have a brown and a black dog.

But seriously, the idea of carrying a tiny wallet like this in the first place was to get away from the Costanza-style receipt ridden speedbump. The beauty of switching wallets is that it forces you to compartmentalize your life into some cash, credit, debit, insurance and business cards and that's it. File or shred your receipts at the end of every day.

I'm also guessing that you think having multiple pairs of eyeglasses is a bad idea as well?

Well, I think that things like eyeglasses and pencils are signs of weakness. just squint like a man, sally.

honestly though, no, multiple pairs of eyeglasses sounds like a good idea.

Just in case a marauding pack of eyeglass muggers swipes your first pair.

Hah. You thought you had me. I got glasses in my shoe, numbnuts.

i have worn braces on occasion, but use a belt 99% of the time. it's just much easier than buying pants for braces or fixing them for braces.

despite my fashion mishaps in a thread previously made by me (according to the Bloor), I should probably stay out of this discussion too because I still have a velcro wallet. haha

This is crazy talk. (Though, to be fair, I would probably do it, but I carry a silver cigarette case as a card holder, and a separate money clip fashioned from deer bones. )

You do need to match belt, shoes and watch to be sure. I think braces can look good, but have never had the desire to try. Also, if you wear a metallic watch (mine is silver) be sure to match your belt buckle to that.

I'm surprised, considering your build that you have never given the braces a shot, Gar. They would have to be fashioned from those tie down straps that they use to secure cargo to flatbed tractor trailer trucks, but still, I think you could def. pull it off.

I'm too bird chested and lacking in definition for the braces. They would flop loosely and add to my already disheveled appearance.

I think you should go union suit anyway....with wing tips.

I was thinking about getting some after my last trip to the tailor, but then he showed me a fine alligator belt.

Belt, extremely skinny people like me have no need to wear suspenders.
