OK... 2-for-1 the first week. May I present to you all...

Da'Damn'Phreak'Noize'Phunk's Electric Crate Digger

"When soul spawned funk, things seems promising. But then funk gave us disco, which, while being quite in vogue these days with hip folks like Fantastic Plastic Machine, also produced the monstrosity that is Saturday Night Fever-era Bee Gees. Luckily, at some point, funk discovered synthesizers and electronica discovered funk, which gave it some much needed heat after the ice-cold, but always riveting, cerebral tunes of Kraftwerk. That's precisely the space occupied by Da'Damn'Phreak'Noize'Phunk, who is actually the German duo of Oliver Bondzio and Ramon Zenker, best known as Hardfloor. As Bondzio and Zenker's side project to Hardfloor, the Da'Damn efforts are usually labeled trip hop, though Portishead fans may not recognize the bass heavy, funk-meets-disco grooves as being part and parcel of the Bristol legacy." -- PopMatters

thanks! this is good, it's kind of like the missing link between digable planets and portishead that i didn't know i was missing. anybody else here have mad love for blowout comb? strangely enough, digable planets are reuniting and recording a new album... hope it doesn't suck.
