I care.

Of course, I liked the last album more than anything else they've done -- it's so metal. I mean, if Chuck Eddy had the temerity to put Pinkerton at no. 53 on his "Best Metal Albums of the 90s" addendum to the second (?) printing of Stairway to Hell, then Maladroit would have to be somewhere in the twenties, possibly even teens, on a Eddy-curated "Best Metal Albums of the 00s".

NAZR!

Sure, I care. I though Maladroit was pretty good; maybe better than Green Album.

i don't know... they put out two albums that very much influenced me, but then the green album was nothing and i didn't even hear maladroit. i'll rely on the word on the street for anything new from them.

Maladroit > Blue album > Pinkerton > Green album

And yes, I care. I'm actually really excited to see them play at Coachella.

Them's pretty blasphemous words....Maladroit = best album?????...

Still, I have to own every Weezer album, due to some inane teenage brain mechanism, so I'll be getting this the day it comes out as well...

Dunno, I probly go Pinkerton > Maladroit > Blue > Green

Maladroit is good. Slob is one of the best Weezer songs EVER. We used to cover Dope Nose. Rawk.

:rawk:

It ain't no damn Pinkerton though.

Oh, them fighting words! I like Maladroit for my own reasons. But, I can still play the Blue album over and over and over... and not get sick of it. But yes, I have to own every Weezer album too just because.

Slob is a good song - in fact, when I saw them play a "secret" Spaceland show months pre-Green, it was my favorite song of theirs. However, by the time "Maladroit" came out, it had lost its edge for me. Not because it's a bad song, at all - but because they had not only "metal"ed it up a bit, but also because the production on Maladroit is horrible! I'm sorry, but Weezer songs need to be shined and processed to hell and back, not left scratchy, hissy, and sounding sloppy - damn the "self produced" credits. I mean, if you ever needed a reminder that Rivers grew up playing in Hair Metal bands, this album was it....

As far as Maladroit goes, Rivers had cast huge doubts on it even before it was released. He's repeatedly said that opening up the tenative track listing for the fans to decide what would/wouldn't go on the album was a mistake (as, according to him, a lot of better songs got cut), but also that it didn't sound as good as it should of. I know that Rivers supposedly "hates" pinkerton but, whenever he talks about it, he just dismissed the songs as not being catchy enough, ect. ....

I'm not a maladroit fan. I know people who have "grown to like" it, though. Maybe I'll throw it on my IPod for a listen or 2 tonight, and let it sit alongside "Blue", "Pinkerton", and the B-Sides I have on there...

I'm going to guess 6 - it is in a slim-case, after all...

Yeah the Green album is like a Weezer cover band doing a not as good copy of the Blue album. I didn't bother with Maladroit either. I kinda really don't care about them anymore.

No other answer is even respectable, unless you got into them around the time before the Green Album was released, in which case you have been led to believe that Pinkerton is some kind of holy grail for sensitive nerds, and you are allowed to transpose the first two.

The people who post here will never convince me that Green Album hate has nothing to do with all the hype that surrounded their "comeback." It took away so much cred for folks who were "into Pinkerton since it came out" that it was impossible they would ever be allowed to like The Green Album.

And Maladroit just ain't that good.

I like blue and pinkerton for drastically different reasons. the other two sound like hair metal trying to go legit. that muppet video was sweettt though
