i'm sorry, but this song makes me laugh every time i hear it.
also, just re-read the azerrad book chapters on them, sonic youth, and big black.
i'm suddenly feeling very confrontational, you fucks.

I take it you are talking about the geniuses that are Austin's own, The Butthole Surfers? And their PAINT-tastic album from 1987, Locust Abortion Technician?

All I gotta say is, heel's yeah.

Yeah, me and Bloor had an INdependent Worm Saloon discussion the other night (he's like, the biggest Surfer's fan there is)

This is one of those bands that people are rightfully scared of, and most of my personal experiences involving them contain verious heinous crimes against humanity.

What a fucking awesome band.

my favorite butthole surfers story is how they used to play with several non-synched strobe lights that would turn the audience into a twitchy, vomiting, seizing mess.

They are the alpha. the omega, the albatross, the Krylon, the EzWhip, the GashFuck and whatever else you need.

what do you want? If you are a man, then "Human Cannonball" is your theme song. If you are a female, might I suggest "Clean It Up"

Meanwhile, I've had "Sea Ferring" on a perpetual loop in my head for the last 14 years.

They also showed snuff films during their sets, correct? Female praying mantes decapitating their inseminators, and such?

np: Evildoers Beware! (release three-and-a-half or four years before 9/11... Sha-ha!)

I've seen highway safety films and films of dudes getting their genitals grinded up in combines on film. Upside down. Played in reverse.. And forwards.

I used to eat a lot of LSD and believe you me, I could handle ANYTHING you put in front of me. The only time I ever lost my shit was at the first Surfers show I saw.

Yeah, I fucking lost it.

I never missed them after that. They had to become MY band.

It was out of respect.

Word, they is pussies. I'm talking about people who pissed in wiffle ball bats, and then shook them on their audiences by referring to them as "piss wands"

A guy who used to shoot balloons and whatever else with a shotgun on stage

And Paul Leary. And God . And The Bible.

Plus, the "Hurdy Gurdy Man" video is the best thing to ever come on MTV EVER

As to Paul Leary, unless he now keeps his professional life well apart from his private (or at least performing) life, the youth mongering must have spent his reserves of nihilism. He did go on to produce the Refreshments -- first (major label) album, at least -- after all.

And Sublime.

Nothing debauched there... In the latter case, as well. Those boys were just fat. Even the junkie in the band. No Keith Richards/Izzy Stradlin' was Brad Nowell.

How far the mighty have fallen. From high school acid head, to nigh-on-30-years-old PAINT freak. I smell After School Special...or is that Gold Krylon?

I think its safe to say that delivery of that item to your home might be followed by a visit from some form of law enforcement. Jesus Bubba, don't link to shit like that----now I'm gonna have to buy the damn thing.
