I *HOPE* you were all as drunk as you sounded when you called me at 2:33am CST!

I could barely make out a "LLLLOOOOOGGG!!!"" and a "HEY DAAAAVVEEE!!"

And then Derris slobbered into the phone about manifest destiny, cutting my pimp's heart out and how much of a schmuck I am these days.

Classic Take.

Hahaha! Let's just say that we were feeling no pain. And it was 2 for 1 Margarita Monday at the Velvet Margarita. Who could pass that up?

Final Update:

I'm back in the ATL finally with a few bruises, a couple extra pounds, a lighter wallet, and some damn good memories.

Pacific Coast Hwy was amazing even with some overcast weather. 6 hour drive through some of the most beautiful countryside ever.

Stayed in Santa Barbara for two nights while I was in that general area.

Solvang was interesting. For the Georgia folks it's kind of like Helen, GA. A very Bavarian vibe going on there with the food, drink, and architecture. It's where a lot of Sideways was filmed. I ended up going pretty big there and in Santa Barbara that night. This lead to the 2nd of my 3 hangovers for the trip.

Santa Clarita was the best weather we had all week. Gorgeous day.

Headed into LA that night. My apologies to Ish for not making it to the Pop Levi show. I worked all day and was in the car for over 4 hours. I got to my hotel and just couldn't make that hour drive back up to LA from Long Beach. Totally passed out that night from exhaustion.

Long Beach was pretty cool despite the fact that I'm pretty sure my hotel was where 90% of the coke deals went down for LA in the mid 70's. Everything was nailed to something. Alarm clock, lamps, etc.

Had a pretty easy day on Monday which allowed me to engage in this:

The LA Obner meet up. Billy G, Puma, and Aural.

These folks are as good as advertised. All different as most of us are yet have the same passion for music, live and recorded.

I've come to the conclusion that when meeting people from the internets you generally have to be open minded about people and these guys were kind enough to indulge a belligerent, southern boy with a propensity for air guitar and drinking too much.

Which brings me to the other passion we share: DAT HOOCH

The sucking down of cocktails and beers began immediately and was constant for a good 4 hours or so.

God Bless you guys for coming to hang out, and on a Monday night no less. I really appreciated it and am glad we got to do it especially since I shit the bed for the Pop Levi show.

This all leads to my 3rd hangover of the trip but it was well worth the minor headache.

Both places we went were great (The Velvet Margarita and The Burgundy Room) and we had some great tunes playing.

If you're ever in LA at Amoeba and need a drink, do yourself a favor and walk 2 blocks to the Burgundy Room. Cheap beer and good music.

I will post some pics once I get them on my computer. Nothing too incriminating.

Amoeba was as good as advertised as well. Spent some money there and could've just hung out there all day.

Thanks again to you guys for coming out and drinks are on me if you're ever down this way.

It's going to be weird to see actual pictures of Derris because I have always pictured him as Dave Chappelle doing an impression of Lil John.

Check flickr, for the Loog Wedding pics. He pops in in true rockstar fashion several times.

Nothing beats Derris doing a mean impression of Jagger.

Oh shit! Forgot about that. What're you gonna do? I was several drinks in and "Satisfaction" came on. I should also be noted that the air guitar came out for AC/DC.

Other songs played (I think):

Ever Fallen in Love - The Buzzcocks
Pressure Drop - The Clash version (?)
Devo - Can't remember what song

Good times.

Good Times. Glad to hear that you made it back safely. I was pretty glad i didn't have a long ride in front of me at the end of the night. Although i wasn't smaht enough to just go to bed, cracked open another beer, cooked up some food and sat down and watched 24 from my tivo. I must have been pretty drunk cause I had to watch it again Tuesday night since I remembered nothing from it.

Will be curious to see those pics.

Ha! This coming from the person who said to me, "I'm not drunk". Mm-hmm, as if I didn't know better. :)

I am techie challenged.

Talk to me like I'm an 8 year old.

I have the pics saved to my computer (Mac) in Iphoto.

Now, how do I get them from there to here?

Can I just click and drag into the reply box?

You can't just drag and drop your photos, unfortuantely. You've got to find a place to host them online. Try www.flickr.com --- very easy to use.

Once you've loaded your photos to your flickr page (Squirgle is a pro at this), you can then either direct us to them via a link or enter them as images via these little codes .

Ben, drag the pics you want out of your iphoto onto your desk top.

Go to www.imageshack.us

Upload the photos

Paste the "direct link to pictures" url like this: Image

Looking forward to seeing these, and the worst pics Loog ever snapped of me at Redlands. RIGHT?
