Amazing. Great morning record. Was throughly enjoying it whilst I got amped up here at work. My boss really dug it too, so I made him a copy. Very much impressed with it.

Fu--did you go to R&TT? I wonder if it was sold out? Where I went they got in 2 copies, and one had sold, and I bought the second.

Yeah, R&TT. I went back later last night and they had both. I was probably just too early, which I will keep in mind from now on.

Seriously suggest getting the 22-track version from Itunes. I'm normally against this Itunes bonus bullshit, but this is incredible. I can't imagine this album with only 14 tracks - I don't know how you'd cut any of these songs out. I think it sucks, however, that this is how things are going today. I don't like not having the artwork, credits, lyrics, etc. Downloading sucks, but for $9.99 and 8 extra songs, I guess I have to admit it was worth it.

Son Volt's website said you could opt to dl just the 8 extra tracks from itunes if you want. Not sure if i'm gonna do it..just passing that along.

Methamphetamine is probably my favorite song on here so far. It was pretty great live too.

If you want to pay an extra $8 for the songs, yeah, or you can just get all 22 for $9.99.

Question for billy g and the others who were fans of Okemah:

Based on initial impressions, how does this one stack up?

I ask because I listened to Okemah a couple times, it bored me, so I deleted it, never looking back. However, the first two times I listened to The Search it left me pretty flat outside of a few songs, but then it really started to click, and I've listened to it a half-dozen times since Thursday.

Okemah for me was just how you stated the new one as being. Love it now. I have to go pick this up today while it's still on sale.
