I'm having an awesome birthday, actually. I'm sitting on a poofy chair, drinking a pbr, and have already been drunk and sober twice today. did a bunch of shots at midnight. only had to work for 1.5 hours today had a bloody and three beers for lunch - on my porch, drinking a pbr and listening to three friends playing music in our studio. phil is making dinner, deena is surfing obner, i'm having a cigarette.

tonight, after phil, jared and dave get done with band practice, i am going to go out and get shitty drunk with a bunch of friends.

what a good birthday!

In a shaker:

3 shots of Vodka
3 of guiness
hot sauce (5 healthy hits on the bottle for me, but to taste for the wusses)
ground black pepper (also to taste, but i put a goodly amount in, a good 10-15 turns of the grinder)
cayenne pepper (again to taste, i go with 5-10 heavy handed hits on the shaker)
minced garlic (couple table spoons)
horseradish (to taste, but i throw in a heaping tablespoon or more)
worcestershire (3-5 splashes)
bitters (5 good smacks)
olive brine (a healthy splash or two, less than a shot, more than a tbps.)
lemon juice (5 good squirts)
celery salt (3-5 good hits on the bottom of the shaker)

stir, don't shake or the guinness carbonation will foam.

ice in your glass, third of a glass with the above mix, two thirds tomato juice (we like campbells cause it's thick), into a boston shaker, back into the glass, and garnish. We prefer jalapeno stuffed olives, garlic stuffed olives, vermouth spiked onions, or if you can find them, Santa Barbara Olive Co. makes bleu cheese stuffed olives. Other acceptable garnish includes large cajun blackened shrimp, celery stalks to stir, wedge of lemon, etc...

have fun.

i had a bloody mary for the first time a couple of weeks ago and thought it tasted like the sauce that you dip shrimp in. it was gross.

i can bet phil's tastes nothing like that.

Phil, I am going to try this out,

I tried some smoked sea salt last time I did the bloody mary mixing and it went over really well...I've also been seeing asparagus & pickle spears lately.

Dude, I threw some skrimps in that piece -- HELLA GOOD!

Going to the specialty grocery to get some real garnish - pickled asparagus and stuffed olives.

Phil, after years of people trying, you finally got me to like bloodies.
