This was the first magazine i've ever picked up (back in 1990). I do believe I have every issue since then and some older ones.

Can't say I saw it coming. Just gonna be weird for me, not picking this up every month at the newstand.

I wonder what mag will be next? seems alot of them are on their way out.

It's definitely a tough time for magazines...I have a subscription to the US version of FHM ( good, cheap bathroom reading material ) & they just went belly up. I got a postcard the other day telling me I could have a refund for the balance of my sub, or they could start sending me the ESPN magazine.

I went with the refund.

I actually thought about resubscribing to Premiere ( I was a subscriber from roughly 1997-2003 ) recently, through the budgetmags.com site. Man, you need to check that out & stop paying newstand prices!

When I was in high school Premiere was interesting. Not to say it didn't have its moments, but for probably the past 5 years, I had not found much of interest in it.

Well, the one thing it had going was it was probably the penultimate American mag dealing directly with he Hollywood system. Come to think about it, that was also probably its downfall as well. To me, they didn't try to change the way they covered film. I think they might've bought some time if they dealt a little more in depth with actual filmmaking, or the people behind films. The sad truth though, is that puff pieces about Viggo Mortensen probably are what held it on though.

It was always kind of the "Rolling Stone" of movies, but I always enjoyed their summer prediction issue.

You wanna talk about movie mags that I miss - Film Threat.

They still have an online version, and are still regularly quoted on independent releases, as well as featured on metacritic.

Yeah, but for some reason it just doesn't feel the same to me. I don't even check the site all that often.
