Never seen him, but I like some of his stuff and the Smiths', as well. Not a huge fan, but he's starting his tour in our town.

Just wanted to get a feel for what to expect if I go.

You should go -- he loves to perform and if you enjoy his music, all the more reason to go.

Starting at the bottom, working his way up?

Hell, we paid Neil Diamond a cool mil to play here when we opened our new downtown arena. Maybe Morrissey's getting a nice little $$ boost from our civic "leaders."

I've wanted to but it's always ridiculously priced. Much more than I could ever justify for a concert.

Maybe he's a Bob Hope fan.

He's great live. I've seen him twice I guess so far. He's hilarious on stage too--always cracking little smart-ass jokes.

Highly recommended.

I've seen him quite a few times but not recently. I fear his best days as a live performer are behind him.

In the early to mid ninties a Morrissey concert was something a bit special. Whether you like him or not he has a fervent fandom quite unlike anything else in indie. And it wasn't just skinny fey kids with gladioli fainting either (although that was part of it). He had a big skinhead/football hooligan/psycobilly following too and things get could pretty rough. Most of the Morrissey gigs I've been to were abandoned when the stage was stormed and trashed. A very odd mixture of people at those gigs but a really electric atmosphere.

That said I've not seen him in over 10 years now because of the price factor (he doesn't perform cheap) and that anytime I've seen him on television recently I've though he's got a little old and stiff and is frankly past his peak now.
