Is there anyone in the world ever not picking Kansas? Seems too close to a concensus for me to go with it, which is my prodigious gut's instinct.

I am a big Jayhawk fan since Nebraska usually sucks at BBALL and I have the same respect for KU Basketball History that I do for Husker Basketball History. With that said, I haven't seen too many people pick them to actually win it all. Most people have them losing to UCLA or making the Final Four, but not the title game. They have had a history of choking in the tournament, so the people who think they are going to win, think so because they feel they are do for a victory ala Donavan's Gators last year.

I have UNC winning it only because I don't want Florida to repeat, I don't think Kansas or UCLA are good enough and I really don't like or respect the two Big Ten powers this year. I'd say Georgetown or Memphis, the Hoyas being a popular pick, but I doubt either can beat UNC.

Only in today's 10-minute attention span society does 2 crappy years = a "history" .

I've got 1 bracket where my Hawks win it all ( an annual tradition ) & one where we make it to the Sweet 16 ( & lose to the Salukis ) . In the latter I have Ohio State taking it all.

No, I'm going back to the year that they lost to Arizona in the Elite Eight or Sweet 16, I believe it was 1997 or 1998 and I also include 2003 when they lost to Syracuse in the title game.

last night an announcer said of ku, "it's their's too prove," referring to their last 2 years' early exits. he also said they're the fastest team in the tourney.

unlike many who have them advancing to the final4, i've got them losing to pitt in the reg. finals. big east was the most brutal conf. in the country, and i think pitt & gtown will be representing.

Fair enough then - but I'd also suggest making it to the final game ( or the Elite Eight, for that matter ) doesn't qualify as "choking" .

And you'll have to excuse my touchiness...all day long I have to put up with idiot fans whose teams haven't done SHIT in YEARS ( not including you in the group, BTW ) talking about how my team "always chokes" .

Sorry Diggity, the pretty much do always STB, at least in the Roy and Bill years. I was hoping that Self would discontinue this trend (what with his perennial Cinderella Reputation at Tulsa) and Roy would continue it at UNC, but it didn't work out.

I have, after many years, adopted a strict no betting rule on KU Bball, as I do with GA football. My heart is too big and my wallet too small for them to be at odds.

They are considered one of the legendary programs in college hoops, have been to 12 Finals Fours yet only have one championship in the modern era (the other was in 1952) to show for it--its safe to say they are chokers. Sorry Dawg, that ain't hatin', that's just factin'.

i have florida. they remind me of an NBA team that kind of cruises a little bit in spots but when they need to win, they are so much better and experienced than everyone else, they just step on the gas. unc, kansas, and texas are too young. ohio state is too big-ten. ucla has some serious offensive liabilities. georgetown - the ducks beat them at home - not good.

I was offered all sorts of scholarship crap from Winthrop, and even if they had paid me five figures in cash on top of that, there is absolutely no way I could have gone to that school. Rock Hill, SC is a totally fucked up place full of weirdos and waterheads.

Seriously, I didn't not see one attractive girl on campus (and I have no standards), and the only normal people were the black guys, most of whom I'd assume to be athletes when compared with the rest of the student body.

Florida and UCLA were the class of the NCAAs all year. But, if Kansas can get past UK/Nova they have a shot. I'll be at the game rooting had against them.

I took the bait Crack.

I've got KU in the championship against UNC.

UNC winning it.

I know their rep for choking but I can't help but do it with that region, especially if UCLA gets upset.

I'm on the line for Texas A&M too.

I should've just pulled names out of a hat.
