Sorry to post this in a music column, but I don't want to join another forum:

My internet provider says that the spam coming in can't be stopped because it's not e-mail-address-specific, but is using random address NUMBERS to reach a lot of random users. Do the people who spam MAKE ANY MONEY doing this ? It seems lots of people do this? Are they REALLY trying to sell the stuff they pitch in the e-mails? It seems so pathetic and desperate.
