I mean, seriously, you think the wheelchair users of the world travel with a spare? No, no... If FT busts Swi's ride, then he's left to making like he's playing crab-soccer (which are not to be confused with the crabs that chuck(e)d got from that soccer player (Ed. note: this may not be true) getting from place to place (until he can acquire a replacement). That... would not be fun. & it would be very much a negative for his potential to monger.

Here's my run-down of the day - I got dropped off at my house by a pretty young thing at around 11 or noon after closing the bar last night at 530AM, then I ate brunch with the obnish folks and slept from 1 to 5PM, then I mongered around briefly and came to work. The bands playing at Spider House were Bello Ragazzo, Leatherbag, Ghost of the Russian Empire, AM Syndicate, Lomita, Golden Bear, and Zycos, although I only got to see the last few bands. I worked an epic, sales-breaking shift, and now it is 430AM and I am drinking a beer and waiting for a cab ride home. Tomorrow, however, I have the day off, play an evening show on 6th St, and get to - how you say? - MONGER MONGER MONGER MONGER MONGER. I will try not to disappoint.

We've been saving all the king hell mongering for tonight's arrival of Rapin' Rod. It also coincides with Colin's first night off this week, so he can finally cut loose footloose.

Yeah so I saw Simian Mobile Disco, Flosstradamus, Little Sister, A-Trak, Bonde Do Role and Spank Rock and danced along with the whole crowd. Then I walked about a couple of miles to the other side of town and saw Kidz In The Hall and The Pack at the Paper Thin Walls showcase which I think was held in a burnt out building but the lighting wasn't too good so I'm not sure. Also, I saw Whiney for a couple minutes there but he was running around like a madman. Then I walked about half the way back from where I came from, went to IHOP and then took a taxi home and slept on the floor for 3 hours.

Not reporting live, but I got an email from my brother today saying he went to The Onion show featuring Andrew Bird and Clem Snide, and that he bumped into a bunch of industry folk.
He's down there primarily for the showcase that Tilly and The Wall are playing in, since one of his travelling companions is related to one of the singers.

Phil is feeding us quiche and crepe. Once I'm done eating, I'm back on the road to Dallas and my daily life as Middle-Aged Man. Being in my twenties again for the past few days was a blast, but I probably wouldn't have lasted through one more night.

For those of you who thought about coming this year, but didn't/couldn't, please reconsider next year. If you have the means, I highly recommend it.

Another fantastic fucking week, thanks in no small part to the hosts at Manor de Ob; Colin, Phil and especially Deena, who came up big in saving my ass Sunday when I was without rental car or shelter and had to loiter at her Starbucks for about 4 hours.

I didn't like them all that much the first few times when they were popularly known as Arctic Monkeys/Libertines/Razorlight/Babyshambles, so I don't see why this incarnation should get any different treatment this go around.
