So I managed to turn off Ctrl-Alt-Del, which really pisses me off, because I end up using it all the time. Anyone know how I did this or how to turn it back "on"?

I had no idea you could even do this, but I did find this.

Quote:
* Click Start
* Click Run
* Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
* In the Group Policy settings window
o Select User Configuration
o Select Administrative Templates
o Select System
o Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
o Select Remove Task Manager
o Double-click the Remove Task Manager option

Neat.

How did you do it in the first place? Just curious.

how did i 'do' what? I used to hit ctrl-alt-del to get the task manager to come up, and stop a dead program or shut down if needed. Now, when I press ctrl-alt-del, i get nothing. no task manager, no shut down, no restart, no latte....nothing

I meant how did you disable the task manager in the first place?

That reminds me of something else, can you right-click on your task bar and access Task Manager? That gets you to all of the functions, too, in the Shutdown dropdown menu.

Try a different keyboard. Maybe one of your buttons is broken.

Right-Click and save this file. Double click on it to import the proper setting. This is assuming that someone the task manager was disable and not corrupted somehow.

So, I downloaded that file, and I at least have a taskmanager, but still no access to ctrl-alt-del. I guess a little is better than nothing. Thanks guys.
