Burning Birthdays EP.

I like this. amg says riyl Walkmen, Strokes, Bloc Party, & Magnetic Fields and that they're influenced by Brian Eno and Phil Spector.

Lead track on the album is called Carpetbaggers, which gets it bonus points.

I've only heard one song by them and it was decent if I remember correctly.

it's a little more goofball poppy than some of the RIYLs you threw up there, but it's not terrible.

Kind of. I'm too unimaginative to think of riyls on my own so I cheated with AMG's. But I agree with you to a degree.

Share? Even if it's not like the RIYLs exactly, it sounds like something I'd enjoy.

Also Tanner, what was the name of that New Orleans artist you mentioned awhile back, played country-rock type of music, like the Band.

"Red Right Hands" on their myspace reminds me of Sean Na Na in a way.

Not bad stuff.

No this was a solo artist from the 70s. Maybe he wasn't New Orleans directly, but definitely from LA. I remember reading the AMG review of the album and it sounded amazing. You said it was a real, afternoon drinking album.

Sorry. I was trying to think of a band. Bobby Charles. He wrote some early rock'n' roll hits. Worked with the band and sings a song on the Last Waltz. His debut recorded was produced by Danko.

I've only sampled some of the Harlem Shakes material from their myspace site but highly recommend their guitarist's solo material (recorded under the band name Arms). If anyone's interested, I'm happy to upload sample Arms material later this evening.
