After a couple of listens I'm still on the fence. There are a couple of songs I like, but so far I don't think it quite measures up to the first 2 EPs. I get bored with the last few songs. And, while I like his songwriting style overall, sometimes I think the songs are too complex - they go off in too many different directions.

Not sure if that makes any sense, but...

i'm liking it muchly. for me, it fulfills the promise of the eps.

i have the new voxtrot at home, but haven't listened to it yet. i like that the album isn't just a re-recording of the EPs, but maybe that would've been best for them. "mothers sisters daughters & wives" and "the start of something" are their best songs yet. does anything come close to them?
