You know, damnit.
I love that old shit... When I come across some old farts harmonizing on PBS, I always get caught up in it.
"Sha-Boom"
has to be one of the greatest dumb songs ever.

Anyone else like this stuff or am I alone here?

Are there any good NEW doo-wop groups out there?
"New-Wop"?
(You know that awful term was coming someday, if it hasn't surfaced already. )

I know about Rockapella. Any others?

have you ever listened to Zappa's first album Freak Out, Todd? Heavily, heavily influenced by doo-wop. His fifth album is also entirely doo-wop stuff, but the versions of the Freak Out songs are inferior so I never listen to it.

i own all 3 doo wop boxes. one of my first musical loves.

The God Damned Doo Wop band put out a disc last year, they are cool. but they are more girl-group than doo wop. but not in that Pippettes way, more like DIY street corner way.

I do tend to revert back to my 10th grade self on this here board.
Thank you for reminding me to watch my language. It's too easy to fall into that for me.

Speaking of Zappa and doo-wop, on disc 2 of You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 4 during the doo-wop medley they do a cover of a song called "No No Cherry." Is this song supposed to be about a woman lying about her virginity?

I'm a big fan as well. Some of my mom's favorite stuff while I was growing up. They were playing some doo wop stuff at Starbuck's the other morning, and I was thinking "Why doesn't someone do a Pipettes-style doo-wop group"?
