What he said.

I haven't read anything else by C.Moore, but after reading You Suck, I can't wait to read more of his stuff.

I was confused when I saw this at the store recently because the first couple sentences of the synopsis sounded a lot like Bloodsucking Fiends.

I haven't either, but Christopher Moore seems like the type of author I usually like. Looking forward to it. Thanks Jasmine.

Opa--re: C. Moore I'd start with Coyote Blue or Blooksucking Fiends. His stuff is excellent, but I've found that I blasted through these two the quickest and with the most enjoyment.

read some kundera or something and don't forget that there is no literature in a free and prosperous society.

^nothing like going out of your way to make a religious statement, eh?

I'd say the "Otherland" books by Tad Williams, if you like big, fat paperbacks.

If you prefer something a bit more manageable, length wise, then The Small Rain by Madeleine L'Engle.

I'm reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill and loving it. It's a ghost story involving a has-been rock musician and an old man's haunted suit.

Oh, and Joe Hill is the pen name of Joe King (as in Stephen King's son).

Thanks for all your recommendations.

I ended up getting Jonathan Safran Foer's "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" & Christopher Moore's "Practical Demonkeeping" & "Coyote Blue".

Ain't a religious statement, Theorist. Southie is, rather, referring to OPA!'s professed attraction to the prim-&-proper LDS 'mos.

Not fiction, but it is an easy and interesting read:

I was gonna recommend:
Haroun and the Sea Of Stories by Salman Rushdie

It's a fairy tale-like story, filled with puns and wonderful imagery. A very quick read and a lot of fun.

Right now, getting clsoe to finishing up The Electric Michelangelo by Sharh Hall. It's about a tatoo artist who apprentices on the English coast before moving to Coney Island in the earlt 20th century, where the stiory really starts. Good, sweeping story of a man's coming-of-age and subsequent life, littered with interesting characters...especially once he gets to America.

I picked it up on a whim in the discount bin and have been pleasantly surprised; very well-written.
