Bump because it was released just this week.

Stunning album, which ranks as my number two, just behind Of Montreal, for album of the year so far.

What is surprising is the critical acclaim this album is getting. Currently Metacritic number one album, Pitchfork gave it a 9.2, Stylus a A- (recommended album) and Allmusic with a four and a half stars rating.

I'd still rather hear this one before I go buy it.

Why is this surprising? Their self-titled was one of the most critically fawned over albums of the year in 2005 and a check on metacritic shows that it has a score of 86. The new one is at 90 with more reviews to come. Tons of critics have a hard on for this guy and think he's the indie Giorgio Moroder.

It's not really stuff I listen to that often but I actually like this new one a good bit. Definitely more than the self titled. "Someone Great" sounds like some 80's throwback that I can't put my finger on. Like some remix of a New Order song or something.

If I'd heard this back then as a 14 year old I probably would've been obsessed with this band.

Also, cokemachineglow just doesn't like this guy or his music.

They bashed his the self-titled also.

It's more of the same. If you liked the first one, you'll like this.

Just got it last week from the BMG sale and it's pretty hott. Jessica Alba likes it too, so I hear.

That's how I was with him too, but this one seems to be more of an album and less of a collection of singles after a few listens.
