Who's the person you keyed in on when you joined the board?

This brings me back to the days of Seth Warren, ERigby, Blotter, Carnivalkid, etc. A much kindler, gentler board. Why do things have to change?

"Separated at birth ... " were the first threads I read at CMJ, so I knew FT ran game. Those whose tastes I feel, you know who you are, and I love you. I'm surprised by this thread at how attentive you all are. I've been dipping back into a lot of SWV lately.

My initial introduction to the board and to the genre of "indie rock" as a whole, including Modest Mouse, Built To Spill, Guided By Voices, Cat Power, etc. was all because of the Top 1000 thread.

So I guess Opa gets credit for that.

Also i remember DJ-Paul(something) being involved quite a bit (not too well apparently)

I read CMJ on occasion, got curious one day, and visited the CMJ mb. I'm not sure exactly when I joined CMJ, but I don't remember casually posting a lot until mid-late 2002 or so, as Nakedprey.

Then of course everyone jumped ship to obner in late 2004.
