There was a thread covering all this some months ago, yes. "Squirrgle back to boston?" or some such. It's not an ideal situation, but both of us do just fine with the distance. We did this summer. The key is actually being very, very busy. It keeps us from getting all mushy and sad and the whole thing going to shit. And we're both going to be very busy.

The fucking bonus doesn't land till my second paycheck, and I want a new bike NOW. Fuck I'm gonna have to finance something for 3 months. Stupid bikelust.

I'm not being pessimistic; I just want you to keep your eyes peeled for potential issues so you guys can work through them as they begin instead of when it is too late. I wouldn't say being busy is a good thing because you can get too busy for each other, but as soon as one person is less busy than the other, they will start to want their spouse back in the picture.
Travel costs are a bitch. I know you can make it if you try. You both just have to want it.

She respects you enough to tell you to go for it, that's a damn good girl, no matter how it shakes out.

Proud of you bubba.

congrats, kyle. i'm excited for the both of you.
i am planning on making myself much more available this time around even though i work on the opposite side of the state.

Let me get this straight. You are working in Boston and your wife has a new store in Madison? Is there a thread about this that I missed? Link me if I did.

I smell no kids in your future and a divorce. Not being together, and both of you being busy with new jobs and a sense of responsibility and to not F*** things up will only make you guys grow apart instead of together. That's my Dr. Phil 2 cents worth and it could be totally not applicable in your condition.

Damn... how do you react to bad news?

I know plenty of people that make distance work. Change is hard but if both of you are committed to making it work, you probably will. Best of luck. Hopefully, your job will be as boring as mine, so we can get your ass in chatzy and waste all of your productive life like the rest of us.

What, from eminent domain? Do you have to share the proceeds with everyone else from the Commonwealth (of Penn.)?

That some fucking great news to hear, Squirg. And some long-overdue return on the good karma you're due after that fucker went all "The Net" on you and got you canned.

Best of luck and mad congrats.

Cap, you're a motivated, principled guy. I expected nothing less that what has transpired.

Congrats man. You deserve it.

Oh, and SHUT UP TIMMY. I'm sure your hearts in the right place but no need to take a big dump in a "congratulations" thread.

I'll be around saturday, of course! I won't go till like June, after graduation.

Timmy's fine. He asks valid questions, and if we hadn't really considered that stuff we could be walking into a nightmare. It's gonna be fine, and we both know that if it becomes too much of a strain, then it's reversible (and I'll have great work experience / salary history to build on). But that's not the plan: I wanna work there, very very badly. I'm going to ENJOY this.

Yes, this means a new bike, the second I can arrange it. Yes Phil, you could buy my bike, if you wanted it. I doubt you do, but if you did, sure. If I get something else, it's gonna go. Unless I kept it as a "bad weather" bike...

When do you leave?

also, this store better be ready for the LooGAR "Bull in the China Shop" Treatment come Memorial Day.

I'm not going till after y'alls visit. Probably first week of june?

The store is NOT ready for a beered-up giant attack. You're going to have to duck in there as it is - them ceilings are low.

Welp, I'll burn it down ;)

Actually, from the description, I am eager to see what it is all about.

Good news that you will still be there. I'll need a lookout for when I have to dump Busty's body.

I have a busy couple of weeks comin up -- rare for me.
