2 - the album i'm digging is called Octopus. i got from either i eat bears or son of sky bicycle

3 - is any of their other stuff as good as this?

1 - yes. the bees is their uk name. band of bees is their us name. not to be confused with the bees, who are from tennessee.

2 & 3 - octopus is new and i haven't heard it, but sunshine hit me and free the bees are probably along the same lines and they're both very good. "chicken payback" was the big hit from the last album. it has a very amusing video.

Small insignifcant fact... my ex lives with the ex of the Bees (US) founder Daniel Tashian. Oh, and their last record is pretty damn good.

Octopus features a song ("Who Cares What The Question Is") that Ringo Starr should probably think about covering very soon. Great album!

Sunshine Hit Me is their debut and best. Great Album. Free the Bees is also stellar. Octopus is good, but just doesn't flow like Sunshine Hit Me does. Maybe with repeated listens Octopus will open up more, but so far I'm not as crazy about it as I was with their first two.

I have always wondered why The Bees never really reached more of the indie crowd. It kind of baffles me. I once slept with a girl based on the fact that she and I shared knowledge and love of this band. True story.

If there's any interest I can upload their stuff.

Yeah, no shit.

This is a band that, for me, falls under the "Great Random Play Band" as in, I love their songs when they come up on random, but I can't really listen to a whole album.

I prefer The Band of Dogs with Bees in Their Mouth and When They Bark They Shoot Bees at You.

That's a good point re: shuffling. That's pretty much how I feel about most bands anymore, unfortunately.

i agree with barker that their debut is the best. octopus is ok, but my least favorite of the 3.
