Can I at least get a FO SHO from jagged or Chuck D? As it stands now, I'm going to be wandering aimlessly around Sixth Street muttering "oatmill" to myself as a crowd of confused and mildly frightened onloookers desperately try to avoid making eye contact.

NO DICE.

No way, no how. I don't think we're even sending anyone from BDS this year. And I'm so fucking broke right now it's ridiculous. Thanks, no-Xmas-bonus-for-the-2nd-year-in-a-row!

COUNT ME IN!

I may be going to a Self Storage convention and trade show in Philly earlier in the week and then heading straight to Austin from there. I should be in fine form by then (ask around about my travelling habits), but I am looking forward to it especially if a lot of folks are gonna be there. I need to get some more info on getting somebody to hook me up with a bracelet (fake media, muician, straight press, richie rich, whatever)

No Dice released their debut album in '77. They played Rolling Stones-derived rock and roll - in fact, the lead-off track "White Sugar" is still the best rip off of "Tumbling Dice" I've ever heard. But in '77 their record label didn't know how to market that sort of tough classic rock 'n' roll, and opted to present them as a part of this crazy new trend called punk. The album was overhauled with laughably tame "punk" cover art, and the band members were given ridiculous faux-punk pseudonyms (the vocalist became "Peaches" for example). The end result was that pretty much everybody hated the band for being soulless trendjumpers. They did manage to play the Reading Festival in '77, and they stuck around for one more album (appropriately titled Two Faced), but they could never live down that one dumb introductory move.

Doubtful.

Although my sister will be there, and has already scored a hotel room, so I'd be in like Flynn. Alas, I've got too many adult responsibilities (i.e. debt) to worry about in the short-term, and I really shouldn't be spending the money now.

Have fun, bitches! ;)

FO SHO, beeyotches.

If for nothing else than to dispense some of my patented beer for the Obnish in attendance.

On a side note, I live in a Triplex that has a huge A unit that won't be quite done being renovated yet by sxsw, but my landlady might be willing to rent it out for use (air mattresses / sleeping bags) for very cheap if we can promise to have it in super clean condition by the time we're done with it. It's like 2000 square feet, and beautiful.

If this could make the difference for some of the doubtful out there, drop me a pm or email. Seriously - it would be nice to make this happen.

And it could also double as a huge going-away party for babe (that is, if he hasn't already left for the NE by then).

It's been a while since we've discussed this, and the date is drawing near, so I just wanted to remind everyone that we're still planning on having a huge Obner shindig during SXSW in Austin, the highlight of which will be the voluminous sampling of Chuck D's bad-ass homebrew.

Once again, here is the info:

Friday, March 18 (spilling over into the wee hours of Saturday, March 19)
Austin, TX

I realize not everyone will be able to attend, for a variety of reasons, but if there's even a sliver of a chance that you could possibly swing it, do whatever it takes to make it happen!
