4. TEH apples in stereo

I find it more a return to his work with Grant Lee Buffalo. Like all his official solo albums, it's still the sort of music that earns the adjective "lush", but he's back to playing with that same cool mix of glam ballads and roots rock that made GLB so good. I hear a muted T.Rex groove in quite a few of these songs - even though it never really comes close to rocking. Plus, it's stayed in my player for over a week straight now - he must be doing something right.

ive pretty much only been listening to house and hip hop the first few months of this year, so it's all been about tracks for me

andrew bird and pop levi pretty much at the top so far. that richard swift is a good listen and i still like the modest mouse, though i can sense it falling like a rock eventually.

high hopes for lcd soundsystem (when i finally listen to it), the national and that CYHSY! as soon as I can listen to the second half without getting bored...the first half is as good as anything this year.

Upon finally hearing Frank Black's Bluefinger for the first time yesterday (thanks for TEH hook-up, Hard Cory), it immediately assumed its rightful place at the #1 throne. It was a good ride while it lasted, Lerche...

Nice. I've been listening to this as well. For those of you not in the know, its Jason Swartzman's new band.
