I was listening to some Asha Bhosle the other day and really enjoying it.

Yes, it's true that lots of the Bollywood stuff is freaking shrill and practically unlistenable for most Western ears, but have you heard much (outside of the obvious spoofs on The Simpsons and whatnot)? What have you thought of it?

Any interest in the Asha Bhosle mix that my friend made for me? Pretty stylistically diverse within that overall Bollywood thing.

And yes, I posted this over at Hipinion, too. You know how I like to share.

yes, the song at the beginning ("jaan pehechaan ho") is most definitely bollywood. i don't remember what the movie is called, but it's apparently a bollywood classic.

I watched a movie recently called Bride and Prejudice that was pretty good. It actually had the dude from Lost in it.

Yeah, that song's about the extent that I've heard. But it's clearly awesome.

I have more from Mohammed Rafi downloaded but I haven't listened to it yet.
