Compromise: I finished my homework and errands early so I'll now watch Hamlet until 6, watch the game, and finish the movie after the game. Everyone wins. Except poor dead Olivier.

That's OK. I'm pretty sure poor dead Danny Kaye will keep him occupied while you watch the game.

Ehhhhhhnnngg. I suppose not really. Heartbreak comes with the territory as a Phillies fan. But that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

Seriously. I took pain reliever several hours ago and if anything the headache has reached migraine status.

Red Sox opener was excruciating.

Let's get blown out by KC.

I was going to keep believing, but have decided to focus solely on heckling, instead. The Rangers won't hear me from the upper deck at Friday's home opener, where they will be pummeled by the Red Sox, but I'LL feel better, regardless.

He looked fantastic.

It's too bad the rest of the starting rotation is likely to be so mediocre. Not to mention their anemic offense.

I have tickets to next wednesday's Sox game and unless the rotation gets fucked up between now and then, Dice-K will be pitching. Sweet.

The offense wasn't so anemic last night - 8 runs!

The crazy thing is that the M's have now won as many games against the A's THIS year as they did ALL of last year....2....the M's were 2-17 against them last year.

Oh well, it is a long season - the M's started out 3-1 last year and still ended up under .500 - It IS an encouraging start.

Off to see Suppan's first start for the Brew Crew tonight. Plus him and Dodger starter Schmidt are starting on my fantasy team. Hopefully it's a low scoring affair.

Calling it quits after game one of 162? Why am I not surprised? You were doing the same a few games into the Bears season last year. Why do you even fucking pretend to be a sports fan?

i've been out of the baseball loop for a few years but i went to a mets doubleheader last year and had an inredible time heckling barry bonds from 3 rows behind home plate. apparently you could hear me screaming on national television. as a result i've gotten back into the game a bit and i've watched all three mets wins so far this year. the team looks very impressive, especially the pitching but who knows if that will hold up. i've almost completely forsaken the yankees, the team of my youth.

Let's not forget that the Mets were facing a team that won 83 games last year. It still blows my mind that those goddamn Redbirds won the World Series. Bitter? You bet I am. Their team looks even worse this year, however. And while 83 wins should NEVER sniff the play-offs, at least the same abomination will not happen again this year.

I'm thoroughly disgusted already, but trying hard not to be. We all knew the bullpen was gonna suck...
