Golden Hits of the Drifters

A concise collection of most of their most popular songs, and a record you can pick up cheap just about anywhere as they made and sold a crap load of this one. Even if you'd have trouble reeling off the names of many Drifters songs off the top of your head, just about every song on here would probably sound familiar once they started playing. Under the Boardwalk is playing right now...

lcd soundsystem - sound of silver

i picked it up last night. i'd heard it twice before during sex, so i guess i wasn't really paying much attention to it - other than as background music. it's really not that bad, though. i quite like it.

Archers of Loaf-All The Nations Airports

Have had this since its release, and enjoyed it previously. Rediscovered it recently.

Self - Gizmodgery

This was supposed to be a Christmas present, but my mom could only find the Japanese import, so it came late and she just now sent it with a bunch of easter candy. I really like the album, and can now understand DMB04 just a little bit better. Also, my special Japanese Import disc includes a Japan-only bonus track called "Resurrect." I have no idea how widely-available the track is, but if anyone wants it, I'm happy to rip it.

I like that Self disc a lot. I'm not normally on the lookout for hard(er)-to-find stuff, but came across it in Portland last year for $8 and was excited.

i should probably get this. not many acts out there could claim to have a string of hits, let alone a string that was kept going with 3 different lead singers.

Spacemen 3 might be a suitable choice for such a situation

All three Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash albums. I'm subbing with them next weekend in Wyoming so I've got alot of studying to do, since they do some seriously marathon sets.

I sat down with the lead singer last night (he moved from SD to A-TX a couple of months ago) and we went over a paltry 24 tunes.

I've just had this thing for years and years and enjoy it immensely. And, if you're into vinyl, I'm sure you can grab a copy for cheap all over the place. I've seen 'em going for a couple bucks frequently. But, if you're looking for a Drifters CD, there is likely a more comprehensive collection out there as this one pretty much ignores their first era and only has like a half hour of music on it.
