I thought this was going to be about how the heathens have taken Easter and turned it into Christmas Pt 2. The amount of presents I see people buying now is absurd.

Ha. My future mother-in-law came by yesterday and basically said "Bye honey, hope you get some good presents for Easter" to my lady when she left.

I snorted. If paying the light bill is a "present" then I guess its Christmas Part Deux around here; otherwise continue your normal lives.

Also, my friend Tony and I concluded last night that if Catholics don't get drunk on Easter, then the Baby Jesus won't ascend to heaven, thus spoiling the whole day for everyone...

Lots of good movies on today. Groundhog Day, The Big Lebowski, Philadelphia, some girly movies. So there's that.

I ate some Easter candy and now I'm officially bored out of my f'ing mind.

i dont mind eatin' em. what is funny is that 2/5 of my family are atheists, the other 2 are agnostic at best, yet we get together for easter.

I'm preparing the traditional Easter meal of curried shrimp and rice.

I drove down to The Compound, where we cooked Lamb Loin Chops, Asparagus (with curry/lemon sauce) and Pasta Al Carbonara. Nothin I hate about an Easter meal today.

Then, sat in the hot tub, listened to Slowcore Monger, and the new Grant Lee Phillips.

Strength to leave fading...fading.

Suckers. My family has never done easter presents or made a big easter meal. We had a good meal today, but nothing like Christmas or Thanksgiving.

Man I love Carbonara. Bacon, eggs and pasta, together at last.

I was able to leave work at 3. Not because my boss realized we maybe shouldn't be open, but because there was a fire on Main Street and cars were being detoured around the store.

Nonetheless, it worked for me.

Yeah, surprisingly, with my eye-tie momma, we never had this. Femgar is the queen, tho.

She cooked everything, and even remembered to snag the Mint Jelly,

I thin Lamb Tenderloin may be better than steak.

One of my cooking goals in the immediate future is to master the cooking of lamb.

We just had the smorgasboard of meats, cheeses and various salads (fruit, potato and pasta)--nothing special though now I am making a fine black bean and turkey chili.

I'll forward you this recipe (openly easy to marinate AND cook)

still got two little loins on a bed of GARbonara ;)

Maybe we'll do these at that boxing fight party at Redlands?

I knew I should have made an Easter back rib dinner. I have no sense of occasion.
