half time was boring, but I did get a little geeked with the fireworks for "live and let die". So, was it live or memorex?

as for the game, Philly really needs to work on their no huddle offense. That was pitiful towards the end of the game. They wasted time that they could have used when they got the ball back after forcing NE to punt. No excuse for that type of clock management. I've seen HS teams perform better with time management.
except i didn't get geeked at the end. other than that i'm in complete agreement.

Couldn't agree more. The people I watched it with were all wondering wtf they were doing. Sucks to say it but D. McNabb is the reason they lost that game. For every good thing he did he would throw up a god awful lame duck ball up for grabs. Combine that with the non-existent sense of urgency on their 4th quarter td drive. I kinda feel for the Philly fans because I have to imagine this one was tough to swallow because they had their chances even with all the mistakes.

Props to the Pats O-line because Brady had time to do his taxes back there.

It was a better game than I thought it would be.

Yeah, it was a better game than I thought it would be. Except for the part where the Eagles wasted 30 seconds being confused at the end.

I thought it was a good game too. As for my team, I blame this loss strictly on McNabb. I love McNabb but the guy had a god awful game. He didn't look sharp at all and if it wasn't for some of his receivers making some spectacular catches, his day would've been worse. The whole clock management thing in the 4th quarter was a joke and they really disappointed me with their no sense of urgency. I hate to say this, but the whole team looked defeated after the Pats went up by 10. Both, the guys on the bench and the guys on the field seemed to have conceeded the victory. It was sad to watch as an Eagle fan. The only guy who looked like he was still into the game, at that point, was Terrell Owens.

Anyway, I'm more sad that another NFL season is over than the Eagles losing in the Super Bowl. Oh well, until next year...

And not for nothing, the FOX announcers are just horrible. I can't stand Joe Buck. He should really stick to baseball.

i don't think McNabb was horrible, but when it mattered he came up small.

i see no reason why this won't be the super bowl next year.

go phillies?

Congrats, Bostonians! I'm sure there's a party still going on there!

My observations:

My first thought was, "Oh my God, Napoleon Dynamite is coming to life here!"

Overall, I thought the game was good, a bit slow in the first half. I thought Paul did a great job at halftime, however....

I really am not trying to be a naysayer or anything, but what is with all the political/pseudo-patriotism crap? Why is this part of a football game? Why did Paul have a big ol' Statue of Liberty on his stage while singing Hey Jude? I mean, I realize that Boston and Philadelphia are two major players in our country's history, AND it was the 60th anniversary of WW2 ending, but I just didn't get all of that patriotism stuff. Was it just me?

(btw, Cotton, do you think Roland was listening in on that song?? ;))

Yeah, I agree. It was a bit too much. It seems every event these days has to have a patriotic theme. Oh well...

i'm with you. it made me sick, but then that's the state of our country. empty patriotism is the easiest way to make a buck nowadays.

I believe I made the comment to Bloor "Listen up, bubba, there's a propoganda film on the tube"

Then, we got wet...

Pretty good game, overall, the ending was a big WTF, but what can I say, the Eagles are losers, in a town full of 'em. Wait 'til next year, boys.

And speaking of next year, I think I want to be put in a coma until August.

Patrotism during the Super Bowl = FOX trying to show middle America they're not the left wing wackos at ABC that flashed Janets tit last year. "We're on your side in this culture war redblodded America so watch FNC." $100 says Bill O'Reilly goes on tonite & talks about how much better Fox did than ABC last year.

The Budweiser commercial was really good but Fox's attempt was kind of empty IMO. If the Janet thing never happened & Kerry had won I bet it would've been a totally different halftime.

On to more important things, the game itself. McNabb what were you thinking? At times he looked so good, that lazer of a TD pass, & other times looked so bad. They need another WR.

I agree with the wasted time in the last drive by the Eagles - that was tremendously poorly planned.

Aside from that, it was a very exciting game. I am really impressed by how well TO played on a crap ankle.
