I'm about to check out my first Heatmiser album, "Cop and Speeder". I heard the track "Something to Lose" on Amazon and really liked it.

Any fans?

I only have "Mic City Sons," and I like it a lot but apparently it's not their best. But then, it's got some great Elliott Smith songs on it, which is mainly why I like it.

I'm more of a Snowmiser fan.

Actually, MCS is their best, according to AMG.

i would be willing to check out more of their output, but I'm satisfied with MCS if i don't get around to it.

I just added everything else to my lala "want" list. We'll see what pops up.

Just got "Cop and Speeder" from LaLa. It's definitely on the less-Elliott side of MCS, which was obvious from descriptions, but it's also more listenable than I expected. I'd say that the Gust songs on this are as good or better than his stuff on MCS.

Neil Gust's post-Heatmiser band No. 2 was pretty good too. First album was very much in the vein of Heatmiser, and the second one added a little bit of lazily rocking Keith Richard-ish rhythm geetar to the sound.

Yeah, I have "No Memory," and I love "Move It Along" (and frequently hum it when people are walking slowly down the subway stairs).
