Dig out your copy of Jim White's "Drill A Hole in that Substrate and Tell Me What You See."

Dark enough in sound and lyrical content to be deemed "Music to Kill Yourself To"....AND I LOVE IT.

Rads had one song on the Slowcore Monger Mix he sent me, and this whole disc does nothing to disple my thoughts on it. Thanks, FT for the hook up.

And seriously, how did I not hear this before?

Still find myself listening to this record on a regular basis 3 years later. Such a good'un.

Yeah, it's good, but not as good as Drill a Hole.... Better than the other White solo albums, though.

You are one Johnny Dowd-lurvin' mofo.

yeah i like Dowd solo alot more than White solo but I think I might like Hellwood more than either solo. At least they are more consistently strong across 50 minutes together than apart.

I need to break this one out again. I've never thought of it as slowcore.

I like Johnny Dowd, especially his Pictures from Life's Other Side album. But, I've never heard this White fella, and I've neglected to hear Hellwood, which I need to change sometime soon.

Is that available domestically? I did a search, albeit a quick one, and it just turned up imports for the album. I have White solo stuff, but not that.

Way to rise to the Chairmanship of the Reading Comprehension Club.

So, uh, did he have a big one?
