Yeah, I saw the wiki update. Oddly enough I cannot find any other verification that he has, in fact, died.

-edit-

ok, here's some links:

Damn. One of my favorites.

It is kind of depressing that no matter what you do with your life, in the end you simply cease to exist in any form. The electrical impulses in your brain just stop firing.

The only reason we can deal with this knowledge is that we are unable to fully comprehend the enormity of the horror. It is impossible to comprehend one's own nonexistence. We comprehend it just enough that our lives are filled with a vague sense of dread.

I'm hoping Versus will introduce the Nashville/San Jose series by saying

Well, shit. That sucks. He must've been pretty old, but he went on the Daily Show earlier this year. He was still sharp, witty, critical of the current political environment--pretty much everything you would want Vonnegut to be.

Anyway, he will be missed.

If not, I cannot imagine that you gargoyles hold him in the utmost esteem. You might like his work, but without the prospect of "jailing", you'd have to downgrade him.

One of the great genuine wits of our time.
I am sad.

Cool dude. Interesting Life. Great Author.

I guess he's just floating in time, now.

I understand what you're getting at, but he's got a literary legacy that won't soon be forgotten. I think that might be the singular driving force in every creative person's endeavors, to make something worth revisiting. That's how he'll keep existing. Count me jealous.

84 and had suffered a brain injury from a fall? That's what NPR said this AM anyway.

God Bless, Dr. Kevorkian was a great little read. Takes about 10 minutes to get through too.

Cat's Cradle is pretty good. Sometimes I am reminded of "gunfalloons" and I try and explain it to people around me. No one has any idea what I am talking about.

I announced in my office this morning that Kurt Vonnegut died and the majority of the responses were, "who?"

*sigh*
