Which is a shame, as turnout was eh, despite P&L being written up - specifically for fabulous drumming! - in the citypaper and fellow performers Adult making the weekly gig shortlist in same.

They were great. Whiney is a quality obner, a ferocious drummer, and an all round nice guy, especially for someone who doesn't drink, smoke, or eat cheese. The album - available at the show before you can buy it in stores! - is making my day.

Dark cameraphone pictures are available - do I now need a password or something for the ob flickr group? I don't think I have an account...

Erase Errata were also excellent. I kinda blew off the Adult part chatting, and wasn't really feeling the synth after all that shouting anyhow.

Damn, yeah I'm actually mad I missed that one, for Erase Errata alone. Maybe next time.

Note that those are beardless photos!

Bluejayway shared so many great anecdotes with me that she is currently my new favorite obner. Ya'll fucked up!

Also, the always ultramegafriendly KPH was out in Boston (I think that's who it was--Please forgive me--I get you and ds bruce and shmoo all turned around in my head because I met you all in a 20-minute span with shiv about 2 years ago... it's hard placing face to fake name sometimes... sorry!)

Will I see the mighty Derris again in Hotlanta tomorrow?

Allright, trying this. Note the strategic hiding of the promised hot chin action...

I'm bad at RIYL, but they cover the Minutemen, a pal of mine finds 'em Jawbreaker-ish, and teh internets say Husker Du (plausible to me), Oneida (dunno), and "June of 44 meets Can meets Hella meets Kraftwerk" (wow).

So, um, maybe not a likely PopTodd staple, to be fair.

Sorry man. I would but I'm off tomorrow and I'm heading out of town.

Have a great show. The Earl is one of the better small club venues. East Atlanta is a cool area.

Have a good show.

That's rather snobby of you to say. Whiney's certainly not beneath any of us.

I should've gone to this show after seeing Grindhouse instead of losing my buzz at the Shearwater/Xiu Xiu show. What a downer.

I'm guessing it was DSBruce who you met since he books shows for Great Scott.

See, I thought it was Bruce too! But I remember Bruce looking like Steve Carrell, and Bruce doesn't look much like Steve Carrell to me anymore!

I'm boarding from the Atlanta show as we speak!

I don't know if this show is for real but on The Death Set's myspace page they're playing with Matt & Kim and it's Parts & Labor's cd release show on June 22nd.
