I thought there'd be a post about this show for sure. If there is, I missed it.

Who watched this after the Super Bowl? (For those who don't know it's a new show created by Seth McFarlane, the creator of Family Guy).

The animation was very similar to Family Guy. I wasn't super impressed with the show though. I will give it another chance when it officially premieres in May.

I enjoyed it...

But the early reviews I have read and heard were pretty spot on....

It's very similar to Family Guy..Almost too similar...This was Seth's next big idea??

At least the Beavis and Butthead Guy just used on of his characters to spin off to King of the Hill and be entirely different.....

I liked it enough to watch it when it runs in May along with new Family Guy.

It's very much like Family Guy, but I love Family Guy, so I'm not complaining.

The fish cracked me up.

Maybe I was just tired of watching TV by the time this came on but I thought it was awful. I like the Family Guy pretty well but I don't think I laughed one time during American Dad. I watched up to the first comercial break and gave up. The jokes were obvious, cliche and over-used.

It was ok, but it followed one of the unfunniest simpsons episodes i've ever seen, so i was hardly "warmed up." McFarlane should just focus on Family Guy.

I actually thought that the Simpsons episode was pretty good Yao stole it, of course, but there've been far far far worse than that one. Since Bill Odenkirk has joined the staff I feel they've got nowhere to go but up.

I agree, I thought Simpsons had funny moments at least, par for the course for this season anyway. It was certainly better than American Dad.

American Dad was kind of sad.

I think you guys are blinding yourselves to the Simpson's continued crapulence. May I remind you of "boom-shakalaka-boom-shakalaka, blah blah blah"?

the show has been on for fucking ever. i give them the benefit of the doubt if only because they're still better than 85% of the TV that's out here. I think it was funnier than American Dad, but still subpar for this season.

The Simpsons has been a mere caricature of itself since the late 90s. I haven't made it through a full episode in a long time.

Ok, good. I wasn't the only one that thought was awful.

I kept turning the channel looking for something better to be on.

American Dad was ok. Not Family Guy funny. But it could end up being funnier as time goes on.

at this point every episode of the simpsons comes off as a complete waste. nothing happens, and on the off chance that something humorous or clever occurs, i don't even want to laugh at it because i'm so disgusted with the show in general. such a disappointment.

as for american dad, it was slightly better than i had anticipated, but i didn't anticipate much. i just hope that the new family guy episodes don't leave me with the same feeling.

I was too drunk to even remember any of it. Except I remember I kept asking about that damn alien.

Though last night's Simpsons episode was weak as a whole (giving Comic Book Guy a real name...WTF?!?), there were a few hilarious moments. Just about everything involving Kwan was funny ("Not in here, I don't."), as was Brady riding onto the field on a Segway pulling an "Everyone sucks but me" banner. I also busted a gut at the Donkey Kong bit with Mario and Bart's treehouse. They really missed a golden opportunity with those half-asses "Passion" parodies by Flanders, though.

As for "American Dad"...ouch. That needs to get WAYYYYYYYY better WAYYYYYYYY fast, or disaster looms.

Yeah, Simpsons wasn't that bad...

Millhouse: "Wow, Michelle Kwan, you're my Idol!"
Kwan: "Well, thank you."
Millhouse: "I didn't know you could talk."

As far as American Dad, it showed promise, but didn't quite get there. The characters are at least different than family guy but, yes, the alien was a bit annoying...

i thought "american dad" was pretty bad. the animation was even cruder than "family guy" and it wasn't nearly as funny. don't you think a talking fish and a gay alien are a little too far off? brian is spectacular, but those two are just beyond. maybe i'll watch it in may.

The fish seems like too much of a Brian rip-off. An speaking, intelligent animal that's in love with the mother? C'mon!

I liked the alien. It had potential.

The kids and the wife suck. Tone down the mock-patriotism, and maybe the dad would be more bearable.

I was a little bit "meh" regarding American Dad, but will be glad to give it a few episodes to develop before I write it off.

It was mediocre, but I still enjoyed it.
The alien was the funniest character. The secene when he gooed/shit himself and said "someone will clean it up" cracked me up.
It is too similar to Family Guy, tho.
IF they make some adjustments/improvements, I'm sure it will be a good show (but not as good as Family Guy)
