 Post subject: Ticket prices shouldn't surprise me anymore, but...

...just got an email about Steely Dan at the Beacon in NYC. $154 for orchestra seats? Just plain, old (not first 10 rows or anything) orchestra seats?

Isn't that kind of steep? I mean, this isn't a reunion-type gig or a one-time event.

yeah, that sounds pretty wild. even the best bjork tickets for her chicago show next month are $130s. it's ridiculous. i blame it all on the eagles and stones.

That is high.

I used to pay $100 per ticket when I saw matchbox twenty, because I was part of the fan club and wanted the best seats possible. When I started down my current music path, I was amazed by how cheap the tickets were. I'll never complain about a $30 ticket, so I thank my humble beginnings for that, I suppose.

Yeah I was thinking about getting tickets for that Rock The Bells show in NYC but apparently they sold out within minutes and the lowest they were going for on EBay was like $400.

I really only vividly remember like 1973-79. I can only recall bits and pieces of 1970-72. Must be early onset Mad Cow.
