I know some of you are Calla fans -- from their newsletter:

Quote:
CALLA NEWS:
After touring for most of 2003 and into the spring of 2004, Calla spent the summer rehearsing and planning the next recording session. They entered the studio in late July with members Aurelio Valle, Wayne Magruder, and Peter Gannon to record their fourth full length with producer Chris Zane (Televised) and additional mixing by Victor Van Vught (Nick Cave, Tindersticks) With new bass player George Gonzalez, Calla ended out 2004 playing a show at Hammerstein Ballroom with Interpol. Shows are scheduled for February as well as a U.S. tour in March with The French Kicks down to South by Southwest Music Conference in Texas. Calla plans for the new album "COLLISIONS" to be out early summer 2005.

CALLA LIVE REVIEW:
Calla live at Hammerstein Ballroom (NYC) Nov 12, 2004
"Calla's new album (out 2005) promises to be ferocious, a frequently immense monster of melodic thunder, though Calla have smartly retained their haunting melodic turns, even as they build them into monolithic cathartic beasts."

i saw them open for interpol about 2 years ago, and, having never heard (of) them before, i was actually surprised at how utterly boring they were to watch.

are they worth giving a second chance?

a girlfriend of mine said she wanted me to give her a hot calla. I'm still not sure what that means...

changing quotes is only good if they're funny and you're 2 for 2 tonight.
