i was watching this on/off with mythbusters and the cubs game, but i have never watched a no-hitter and figured he'd lose it. then i turned it back in top half of each inning and thought, "whoa... ok... i'll keep watching."

I was at Memorial Stadium for the Wilson Alvarez no-hitter back in the day.

That was back in the day. I would have liked to have gone to one game there but never got the chance. Ah well.

My second pro baseball game was in 1986, and a young Roger Clemens started for the Red Sox against the O's in Memorial Stadium. The first was earlier that season, when I saw Jack Morris pitch for the first of 836 times.

I saw the highlights this morning. That was pretty impressive, and only one walk from a perfect game. I like the fact that he kept chatting with fellow players in between innings rather than get all nervous and isolate himself.

Apparently it's baseball superstition during a perfect game not to talk to other players. I guess no-hitters are different.

it's also done during no-hitters, but buehrle said he didn't want to only think about it, so he made himself talk to the other guys.

there's a great story about david lander when he was a co-owner of some minor league team. he was sitting on the bench and the pitcher was throwing a no-hitter (maybe even a perfect game) and sitting by himself on the bench. so one inning he comes back to the bench and sits next to lander. and lander's thinking, "don't talk to him, don't talk to him, don't talk to him." and the guy leans over and says, "so what do you think of this no-hitter i'm throwing?!"

Man, the Rangers FUCKING SUCK!!!

The fact that both the Rangers and Dallas Stars are owned by the same douchebag, Tom Hicks, proves his incompetence in owning a sports franchise.
