1. Houses of the Holy
2. Physical Graffiti
3. Zoso

In Through the Out Door still has many album before it despite being a very good album.

Yeah, that's my favorite PJ album, actually.

I tend to think that all the post-Exile, pre-Some Girls Rolling Stones albums get unfairly slagged.

I think the slagging comes from the fact that those albums probably seemed like radio rock/Stones by numbers compared to the inspired 4 year, 4 album run preceeding them. Some of my favorite "Gar" Stones songs (Luxury, 100 Years Ago, Memory Motel) come from these albums.

Also, I'll throw out that Songs of Cindy Walker album released last year by Willie Nelson. A nice blending of styles and themes, and just a solid set of songs.

Well, if and when people want to laud Smiths albums they usually go for 'The Queen Is Dead', 'Hatful of Hollow' or even the debut album before 'Meat Is Murder' gets a mention.

its ok I was really referring to the other original run albums like Another Music in a different kitchen and A Different Kind of Tension. I never understand why people love Singles going steady and don't get the other albums.

A Different Kind Of Tension is out of print now and commands a decent price on the auction sites. I'm pretty sure the same applies to 'Another Music In A Different Kitchen'.

I have 'Operators Manual' which is a much more extensive 'highlights' package than 'Singles Going Steady' is.

Meat Is Murder is the t-shirt and album that everyone had in high school--I guess that's because it was released stateside whereas Hatful was not. This was all in the days before Queen Is Dead.

Sweet Oblivion / Dust is a great 1-2 punch!

I've been digging the early records lately.

And don't forget the denim jackets...
So true.
I had such a crush on the girl with spiky pink hair who wore that denim jacket.

Todd, you need to write a pop song about that.

Definitely agree on these. PJ had to put out No Code to shake off the mooks. I like to imagine that the look on those guys' faces are similar to the Sandler fans who went to go see 'Punch Drunk Love'. Yield slowly sinks the hooks back in and is easily one of their best albums.

Agree on the Stones too. I love those mid 70s albums.

I should probably take this opportunity for my billionth Obner touting of Centro-Matic's Distance and Clime, since pretty much nobody who is into that band considers that their best album...except me, of course.

Great record. On any given day it could be my favorite of theirs (but usually it's Up On the Sun).

As Ive said before, I think D+C is about the 7th best thing Will Johnson has put to disc, which is still pretty good.

London Suede-Sci Fi Lullabies

I've long held that this is my favorite of their output. I think it rivals anything they've put out proper. Highly recommended. This to me is the Brit sound that begat a million and one imitators.
