I'm really stuck in this right now. It has all the elements of the things that I generally love: dark, cryptic lyrics, wall of guitar noise with soft/loud dynamics, melody, great album cover (bonus). If you haven't heard Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters and this sounds like your thing, I highly recommend picking it up.

RIYL: Aereogramme, MBV (a bit)

e-stone approved -- i'm loving this album. top 5er for me right now. i'll also add to the riyl: mogwai, interpol, shoegaze. not that it all "sounds" like this, but i think if you like any of these, you'll dig the twilight sad.
i've also described them as the scottish the national fronted by aidan moffat of arab strap.

As I mentioned in an "np:" thread earlier this week, I find them very similar in sound (sonically, not lyrically) to Kitchens of Distinction. If you dig Strange Free World-era KoD, you'll likely dig this.

Saw and met Twilight Sad while at SXSW and fell in love! They just performed here on Wednesday and had planned on going. Sadly, I worked until midnight and lost my opportunity. ;(

This is the worst name ever.

I imagine it soundling like The Postal Service, but all the lyrics are different types of crying/moaning and weeping.

"Waaaaahhh, I'm. Just. So. Saaaaaaaaaad."
