Yeah, I know...
Still it's good info that I want to pass along. They're a shoulda-been legendary (in some circles they are) power pop band from Chicago. Big influence on Material Issue, with a similar kinda sound.

FitzGerald's in Berwyn.
Doors at 8:00; Matt (Spade) opens the show at 8:30; Green goes on at 9:30 or so.

Hopefully I'll make it and get to see you there.
It really is a treat for power pop fans, as they have a pretty damn great catalog of songs and haven't played out in 4 years or so.

EDIT: I know that Matt would have wanted to post this, but probably didn't want to take the shit for hyping a show where he's on the bill. I got you Matt. Besides, I am genuinely excited about seeing Green.

How was the show?

this was a good show. the vocals were a little off, but they played well.

there were a lot of people, especially women (at least one was a band guy's wife), who probably hadn't been to a show in years. one girl, in particular, was a trainwreck - dancing, playing air guitar, touching the guys in the band while they played, etc.

Thanks for coming, guys!

I thought Green's set was surprisingly good, considering they had only one rehearsal to get ready for the show, and they haven't really played as a band regularly in several years. I was particularly blown away by some of the lead guitar work and the overall chemistry. They were clearly having a great time playing. As was noted, they brought a ton of fans, mostly older folks who attempted to dance near the stage. All in all we had almost 100 people there, which is incredible for a thursday.

The rest of the bands played very well too. I had trouble hearing myself onstage and some weird tuning issues, but all in all I had a great time.

only one rehearsal? wow. i thought they'd been jamming in someone's basement for weeks. that makes it even more impressive, especially some of that crazy guitar work.
