Somehow Pork Soda ended up being their best album. Oh, how I loved this band in the early 90's.

i would never think to use the word "pretentious" to describe Primus.

The circus video? How is that any more pretentious than the concept of music videos in general?

I'm not a fan, simply for the reason that it seems like they try too hard to be "weird."

How is that different than people trying too hard to be "punk" or "indie" or whateverthefuck? It's no different than hipsters drinking PBR.

They seemed so much cooler when i was 14.

Don't have anything against em, but i haven't had any desire to reach for a Primus album in over a decade.

Their music doesn't elicit anything in me anymore.

They got sucked into the black hole known as the jam band genre.

Stopping by nu-metal on the way.

Still love their early 90s output, though.

No, he's right. Their music doesn't elicit anything from him anymore.

Was a fan, don't really pay attention anymore. I saw Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade about 6 years ago at the Tabernacle in Atl. It was great.
Sailing the Seas of Cheese is prob my favorite of the 3 records I own by them.

I haven't listened to this in years but it was in pretty steady rotation in the early 90's. I didn't pay much attention to them after this one although I may haved owned Pork Soda at one point.

I still like "American Life".

I will say that Primus made me view the bass as something other than the instrument that "the guy that never moves" plays for the first time.
