I just love playing with language.

Those of you who have taken a class in Lingustics, what can I expect?

Just gonna be at my community college, but methinks it's gunna be fun.

The one pure Linguistics class I had as an undergrad wasn't good. We talked about the roots of English, phoenetics, etc. But english and german were once the same language, so I sorta already knew a lot of it (being a german major). The farther back in time you go with either written english or german, the more similar they get. Reading Shakespeare is like reading 1/5th german. Plus our "teacher" was a T.A., and a raging bitch who didn't want to be there and didn't hide it well.
