Yeah, I surprised how much fun I had there. Definitely will go again since the airfare from HNL is usually not that expensive.

Here's a rundown of what I did:

walked Fisherman's Wharf area
ate clam chowder from a sourdough bread bowl
Ghirardelli's chocolate (mmmm)
one-hour boat cruise in the bay (Golden Gate bridge and around Alcatraz)
sea lion sightings at Pier 39 (not walruses!)
Chinatown
Castro street goggling
Coit Tower (spectacular view)
had a drink at the Top of the Mark late at night (also spectacular view)
hiked in Muir Woods
found some stones/got some sun at Muir Beach
saw Aereogramme at The Independent
saw The Shins at The Warfield
walked around The Palace of Fine Arts
day trip to Berkeley
walked upper and lower Haight street
gave panhandlers some change
drove down Lombard street (world's most crooked road apparently)
shopped at BOTH Amoeba's, Rasputin, and Streetlight Records (fantastic)
Dubliner bar (drunk)
City Lights bookstore
taqueria take-out
modern art museum (saw the new Picasso exhibit)
rode a trolley
had breakfast at Chart House (windy as fuck outside)
Golden Gate park (cherry blossoms near the Japanese Tea Garden)
walked around The Presidio
examined some of the beautiful old Victorian apartment buildings

You are such a kiwi with your list documenting your travel. Sweet, really. Friend from Wellington will sit you down and read long passages from her travel diaries... truly a cultural thing from geographical isolation mentality...

You missed the Kulchur.... one of the best Asian Art museums in the world, great Museum of Modern Art, and in Golden Gate Park there is the De Young, that has a pretty good permanent collection, great architecture, and on a clear day the best view in SF from its tower (better than Coit Tower). Andy Goldsworthy courtyard is worth the trip alone.

awesome score!!! I hated the Berkeley Amoeba though....the store three doors down to the left (forgot its name) was much much better.

Except I'm from Hawaii, not NZ.

And yeah, I didn't have time to do EVERYTHING I wanted to, obviously.

On my list for next time is that Asian Art museum, the zoo, the aquarium, a road trip to Napa, and lots of great restaurants I want to try. SF seems to be a great place to drive around and see on a moped or a motorcycle so maybe I'll look into doing that too.

NO GODDAMN PARKING, WHEREVER YOU GO. A guy was telling me that the fourth biggest source of revenue for the city is parking tickets.

FT, what's Mitchell Brothers? It sounds like a store for the big and tall.

More like the wide and long.

It's America's premier "Adult" emporium.

I lived there for seven year, so I miss her everyday especially the clean crisp air.

Rasputin Records, also one in downtown SF, is not better than Amoeba Berkeley. All you need to do is go back there the following week, as they will have different stuff. Berkeley's Amoeba was once the only Amoeba until 1998 or so.

Premier? It's dirty/scuzzy...

Pussycat Theater on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood was the flagship. Busses full of confused and horny Japanese corporate men wanting to get in touch with their corporate selves.
