Solomon Burke - Soul Meeting

The Only Children (that band with the one dude from The Anniversary) have got four or five killer country/rock/pop tunes that just about kill me.
Among them: "Change Of Living," "St. Graves," "Lonesome Road," "Before It Fades" and "Girl With The Golden Hair"

If only tracks 1, 3, and 5 were anywhere near this level, it would be easily the greatest album of all time.

you could put a bunch of go-betweens songs. you could also throw in some church songs - maybe Electric Lash

Especially the minor-key verse, major-key chorus. Great tension/release.
