Dude is on the Zevon-Petty level of smart-jangle songmanship but has never broken through.

I like him a lot and dig that album. I'd recommend "Cornerstone" over it for newbies.

Also don't really get the Zevon/Petty comparison. To me he's just an intelligent indie pop singer/songwriter and the comparisons I'd make are to guys like Richard Davies, Tommy Keene, Warren Zanes, etc.
