No 2007 album has blown me away as a whole, but Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, and Son Volt all have their divine moments. Explosions in the Sky and Low are solid as well.

Helloooo...there is a spoon record coming out!

There are tons of great records this year:
Arcade Fire
The National
Feist
Wilco
Frog Eyes
Menomena
The Shins
Ted Leo

I'm still looking foward to hearing the new Polyphonic Spree record.

These and Sondre Lerche.

Does the rest of the Wilco album sound less like the weather channel than those 3 that leaked?

some serious lol's in this thread.

year has been too good in some cases. but whereas last year had a plethora of outstanding indie/pop releases kinda thing, this year has been a lot better on the electronic/dance tip. there's always plenty of stuff out there.

definitely another great year for electronic/dance music. last year was good as well: ellen allien/apparat collaboration, booka shade, working for a nuclear free city and a bunch of others.

I've been digging this quite a bit:
Image
Richard Swift - Dressed Up For the Letdown

Tin Pan Alley-ish pop. Definitely has a classic feel, with solid songwriting, basic (but crisp) production. RIYL - Wilco's poppier moments and Ben Folds.

I'm going out today to try and locate the new Feist and Charlotte Gainsbourg's new one.

My goal is to find them in the same store. We shall see.

I was actually going to start a thread about how awesome this year has been.

10s
Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
Ulrich Schnauss - Goodbye

9s
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
NIN - Year Zero
The Field - From Here We Go Sublime

8s
Rob Crow - Living Well
Eluvium - Copia
Arctic Monkeys
Lily Allen (if you consider this a 2007 release0

Have not heard but should be good:
Feist
Bloc Party
Blonde Redhead
Lots of others that I'm forgetting
