I should've known my immune system would eventually break down with the amount of hours I've been putting in at the office.

On the way home from Coachella Friday night, I started sniffling and falling asleep on the road. So, I pulled over at a rest stop, took a snooze and eventually made my way home. The next morning (or was it afternoon?), I woke up with a raging cold and slept on and off all day. Yesterday, the cough began. And, today, it feels like my head is gonna explode.

I have so much frickin' work to do, it's not even funny. But there's no way that I can be remotely productive with the way I feel.

Btw, Coachella was fun for the few bands that I saw. I live only about 115 miles away from the venue and it took me 4.5 hours to get there. Got to see Arctic Monkeys, Jesus (not James) & Mary Chain, Jarvis Cocker, a bit of Sonic Youth and a bit of Bjork. I met fancypants (was very happy about that!) and exchanged text with Dreaded Marco (bummed that we didn't get to see each other).

And, I missed out on seeing one of my favourite bands (Travis) last night due to this horrid virus!!

I so hate being sick. I'm grumpy, irritable and mean.

Odd question, considering all that you wrote....

but, was there bad traffic? 4.5 hours for 115 miles seems nutty. :)

And I've been in the car with you.. you're a faster driver then that :)

There was horrible traffic from the time I left home (around 2pm) until I reached Redlands which is a little over half way to Indio. After that, it was fairly smooth sailing (80+mph) until I got close to the venue. Then, it was another waiting game to get into the parking lot.

this is very, very easy for me to say, but if you are getting physically sick from work, shouldn't you start to look for a new gig?

Feel better, T.
Chicken soup is good for you in situations like this.

Sorry to hear this, Tania! The same EXACT thing is happening to my wife right now, and hers is largely exacerbated by not enough sleep and not properly tending to her blood sugar. It frustrates the hell out of me, because no matter how many times I tell her not to stay up late, etc., she just does what she wants. But I know you're not like that...get well soon!!!

That's a big bummer, T. Our bodies have a pretty no ifs ands or buts way of telling us enough is enough, and from the sound of things you passed that line a while ago.

I hope you feel better and revitalized real soon. Get some rest for a full day, don't think about work and just treat yourself right.
Take care.

Oh, and I'd love to get a copy of the photo of the two of us! When you're feeling better, of course.
