Wasn't Inchon when we get overwhelmed with spammers and need to go to drewster2000 board? Since we don't seem to be overwhelmed currently, and since drewster is long gone, this doesn't seem applicable.

I'm sure Scarlet Johansen will do something else in the near future, and then there'll be plenty for Obner to talk about.

It does seem moribund.

What other sites do people check about modern music where there are interesting conversations? (Preparing for the demise...)

This is the only music forum I post in. I use the chat room a good bit though during the day.

What is the best album you've heard this year harry?

Derris, how is that Mavis Staples album? I caught a bit of her live performance on Leno last week and she sounded amazing.

It's good. There are 2-3 really great songs on there and other merely good songs on there and a couple I could do without.

It's all updates on 60's civil rights songs which could be tedious but it sounds great and comes off completely timely and appropriate.

I can see playing this when I need a blues or soul fix.

Right, light a candle before you curse the darkness. Top Five so far:

1. Cryptograms, Deerhunter
2. And Their Refinement of the Decline, Stars of the Lid
3. The Works and the Days, Enrico Rava Quintet
4. Sound of Silver, LCD Soundsystem
5. Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters, The Twilight Sad

And two "end of last year" post-rock releases that I've played more than anything else

Mountains, Mountains
Morning Tones, M. Rosner

I need to listen to this again. It seemed so unremarkable but I only listened a couple of times.

I like it very much too, and the 'Fluorescent Grey' EP, and they were really good live last week. I don't know if it's great, it's just nice.
