Rufus Wainwright - Going To A Town

and these lyrics!

I'm going to a town that has already been burned down
I'm going to a place that is already been disgraced
I'm gonna see some folks who have already been let down.
I'm so tired of America

I'm gonna make it up for all of the Sunday Times
I'm gonna make it up for all of the nursery rhymes
They never really seem to want to tell the truth
I'm so tired of you America

Making my own way home
Ain't gonna be alone
I got a life to lead America
I got a life to lead

Tell me do you really think you go to hell for having loved?
Tell me and not for thinking every thing that you've done is good
(I really need to know)
After soaking the body of Jesus Christ in blood

I'm so tired of America
(I really need to know)

I may just never see you again or might as well
You took advantage of a world that loved you well
I'm going to a town that has already been burned down
I'm so tired of you America

Making my own way home
Ain't gonna be alone
I got a life to lead America
I got a life to lead
I got a soul to feed
I got a dream to heed
And that's all I need

Making my own way home
Ain't gonna be alone
I'm going to a town that has already been burned down

Release the Stars," Wainwright's fifth studio set, follows 2004's "Want To." It is the singer's first self-produced album, and is executive produced by Pet Shop Boys singer Neil Tennant. The record features contributions from Richard Thompson, violinist/guitarist/singer Joan Wasser and veteran British actress Sian Phillips, to name a few.

When Wainwright was preparing to record "Release the Stars," he envisioned it as a "kind of pared down, bare bones affair," he said in a statement. But he ended up with "this huge gilded album," complete with the London Session Orchestra on several tracks.

"The record didn't end up being a bare bones affair, but it was important that I had that image in mind," Wainwright said. "Even though I have some of the biggest moments of my career on this record, there are some of the most intimate moments too.

"With my songwriting in general, I always try to make sure that the songs stand on their own," he added. "They could be done with an orchestra, or with a kazoo for that matter."

I like the song. I've listened to it 4 or 5 times. Good stuff.
